Shipping & Delivery Format

Our products come fully assembled, ready for you to use straight away and without the hassle of having to put them together yourself. They’re packed on top of a wooden pallet and wrapped to protect them during transit. And, because of this, deliveries are made using a delivery lorry with a tail lift or a ramp to deliver our product(s) to you. They also use a pallet truck – a horizontal flat two-pronged device on small wheels that lifts and moves pallets and the items on them to where they need to go.

There are some instances where the product will be delivered to you in a few separate parts for you to assemble easily. But this is only done where the logistics of the address you want the item(s) delivered to you make it too difficult to deliver a fully assembled item (see: Delivery Destination Logistics below)

Delivery Locations & Costs

Although we deliver mainly to the UK mainland, deliveries can be made to areas and countries outside the UK. And, as I’m sure you understand, there will be a charge for this. So, if you live outside the UK mainland, then please contact us at support@groovytimber.com and tell us where you are and we will work out what the (non-prohibitive!) charge is and get back to you very quickly so you can make your purchase decision.

Free standard delivery throughout most of the UK.

  • For islands and remote areas a delivery charge will apply.
  • Zone 1: For Mainland England, Wales and Lowland Scotland
  • All items enjoy free delivery
  • Zone 2: For the Scottish Highlands e.g AB, IV, KW and some KA, PA, and PH postcodes, there will be a surcharge of £50 - £100 (depending on postcode).
  • Zone 3: For Northern Ireland, BT postcodes, there will be a delivery surcharge of £59.
  • For Channel Islands there is a surcharge of £100 for pallet deliveries, ex vat (large items).
  • Isle of Wight or Isles of Scilly pallet delivery surcharge £59 for PO30+ and TR21+ postcodes.
  • For the Scottish Islands please call for a quote.

All deliveries normally require a signature, but if you’re not going to be available to receive the delivery, please could you state during the checkout process the best and safest place for the driver to leave the pallet. Alternatively, just email us at support@groovytimber.com with the details.

Delivery Destination Logistics

The delivery pallet size is 1.2m x 1.0m (4ft x 3.4ft) wide and can go up to 2.2m (7ft 2ins) high. Our products though reach 1.80m (6ft) high. And the goods are wrapped and strapped on the pallet for you to unpack at your leisure.

The delivery driver will not unpack the pallet or take it away for you (that said, wooden pallets have so many handy uses you can benefit from, anyway!) but will put it, using his pallet handler, in as convenient a place as possible for you.

And please note that these pallet handling devices, especially with a heavy item or set of items on them, can’t be taken over steps, grass or gravel. So please factor this in when ordering.

But, if this is going to be an issue, then we can arrange for the Firewood Feeder you order to be delivered in the 5 main constituent parts on the same pallet if the full item is going to be too heavy and/or too bulky for you to manoeuvre to its planned location. This enables you to carry these parts to where you want to locate the item and then assemble the item fully and easily.

Also, the vehicles that deliver our products are usually small 7.5 tonne lorries with a rear tail-lift. If you think delivery this way may be a problem because of where you live (narrow lanes, parked cars on either side, etc) then please contact us and we come up with a cunning alternative plan for you.

So, when you’re purchasing our products, please let us know if there could or will be any issues with the following:

  • Is the address on a (tarmac) road? If not, what type of road or track is it?
  • Can a lorry park within 6 metres (20 ft) of the property? If not, then we may need to consider another delivery option which may have cost implications.
  • Are there cars and other vehicles parked on both sides of the street, or roadworks, and, if so, what problems will this cause for delivery lorry access?

If the delivery fails due to you not notifying us of any issues stated above, inaccurate customer details or you failing to take delivery, except in circumstances where it is beyond your reasonable control, Groovy Timber reserves the right to:

  • Charge a reasonable cost of storage and redelivery once the reason for the initial failure has been identified.
  • Resell the goods at market value and charge the original buyer any expenses occurred in the storage or reselling. Should the item resell at below the market value, any shortfall will be charged to the original buyer.

Now, we’re sure it won’t come to that and we certainly don’t want to have to do it…but we have to be pleasantly clear just in case it does!

We will deliver the goods to the address you specify in your order. Therefore it’s important that this delivery address is accurate. So please be most precise about where you would like the goods left, especially if you’re out when we deliver as we can’t accept any liability for any loss or damage to the goods once they’ve been delivered in accordance with your delivery instructions.

Delivery Times

Deliveries are made on Monday – Friday and generally arrive between 8am and 6pm. No specific time of day can be given. Deliveries on Saturdays incur an additional charge (it’s the couriers who charge us this – so it’s not us trying to pull a fast one!).

Customers must be available to check and sign for the delivery except when Groovy Timber has received written confirmation from you as the customer that the item can be left without a signature.
